Great Leap
In Fellowship 2025

Great Leap was founded in 1978 by musician and activist Nobuko Miyamoto to build community through workshops, residencies, and performances using music, dance, and theater to deepen relations among people of diverse cultures and faiths. Now—nearly 50 years later—Great Leap is in the midst of the organization’s first leadership transition, while continuing to present participatory performances and stewarding the Manzanar Baseball Project—an artist initiative to restore and activate a field where incarcerated Japanese-Americans played baseball during internment at what is now the Manzanar National Historic Site.
